The 30th China Ancient Town International Lighting Expo, hosted by Zhongshan government and the China Association of Lighting Industry, opened on March 18th at the Dengdu Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. More than 20 lighting products jointly developed by the Design and Innovation Center of Xi’an Peihua University and Zhongshan Creative Space Business Service Co., Ltd. have entered the market from campus and collectively appeared at this year’s International Lighting Expo.

The products have received high recognition from exhibitors and on-site audiences, and business cooperation intentions with dozens of procurement platforms such as Amazon have been reach. It has also been reported by international media such as China Daily.
The exhibition not only showcased the unique and creative works of teachers and students, but also comprehensively displayed the achievements of talent cultivation in the university’s design majors. The close cooperation with the government, industry associations and enterprises, has built a bridge for students to achieve quasi-employment from campus to the workplace. This enables students to flexibly apply practical design thinking and techniques in the design process, achieving a leap from knowledge acquisition to value creation.

This exhibition reflected the significant achievements of the reform of application-oriented education in the university, and more effectively promoted the marketization process of design works by teachers and students, effectively enhancing their learning vitality and innovation enthusiasm. In the future, the Design and Innovation Center of Xi’an Peihua University will focus on promoting the co-construction between the university and enterprises, continuously exploring a comprehensive, multi-domain, and long-term integrated cooperation mechanism and innovation path of industry, academia, and research.
